i found out all the requirments to being a sniper if anyone else wants to no in the military this is very helpfull to look up information like this to find out how good you need to be at what you want to be so here they are for a sniper
need to be rank E2-E7, expert rifleman. minmum requirements for a sniper: having a 2nd class or higher swim qualification, a first class score on their physical fitness test, eye sight 20/20 not color blind, no office hours, non judical punishment within 6 months. qualify for a secret security clearence, and posses a GT score of 110 or higher
i hope this kind of info will help anyone else who wants to be a sniper in the military and i know this will push me to be a great sniper maybe this will allow others to see what you have to do in the military to see what you have to do to become what you want i know this will help me in the future to become a sniper maybe others should look up there requirments on what they want to be it may just help.
also a question:
I think it would be fun being a sniper and i can use a gun of my chosing like the SVD Dragunov or the .50 cal sniper rifle but in the military i think snipers are starting to move on to the .50 cal and thats it correct?

Well i think something that hasn't been broght up is that there are snipers and marksmen. as a sniper you arent there to kill. your primary will normally be to observe the enemy and if you see a high roller and get a green light you take him our. marksman however are normally a soldier in the fireteam with a scope on his weapon and is a good shot. he engages whomever he chooses. also snipers have to have a lot of patience and one wrong move and your out. i mean a glint off your scope or an enemy spots a broken tree branch thats it. your dead.

Well I was reading all these and seeing some of the old me haha makes me laugh how much i've changed i really don't think i'd join the U.S. military. If i joined a military at all it would be the british S.A.S. (special air services) or the royal marine commandos. But getting on the joining the military topic has anyone else changed there mind on maybe a new branch or carrier in the military like instead of a fighter pilot something crossed your mind to be a C/130 pilot or something of the sort maybe instead of the army you want marines? any changes?

Hah, yeah I have changed. I'm gonna join the ARNG in a few months, go to college, and either do Army ROTC there or join the Corps and do OCS. I've done loads more research on joining the military since I started this thread

I'm planning on the Guard now too. I'm looking at law enforcement as a future career, and the Guard is something they like to see.
