My grandfather was in the military, and was part of Vietnam, but he refuses to talk about it. My father was in the Navy at the end of Vietnam, and served in peacetime.

My Dad flew to combat tours during Vietnam and was shot twice in the left leg. once as a flesh wound and once as a severe evac wound. He met my mom at the hospital they had in Denver I forget the name. He also flew in Desert Storm and helped to put out the 1988 wildfire in yellowstone. MY mom was an army nurse. One of my uncles was in Korea as a bomadier, 4 of my great uncles were in ww2. My Dad also helped with missile designs during the cold war. Good thing the cold war was never fought. Also my great uncle Buck also won the Congressional Medal Of Honor during World War Two. He ran supplys back and forth through Jap lines 9 times.

my great uncle lost his leg in the cold war Question- how did that happen? Not a single [official] shot was fired during the cold war, it was about nukes, with maybe a couple assasinations.

he was aimed to be assassinated and he was shot in the lower leg though the assassin was shot and killed by a security patroler that was nerby that had heard the shot. sounds very suspisous but he did loose his leg.
