So, I was looking at my cheapo plastic knife I got in this "play army" kit (it came with a 1 or 2 cm thick plastic helmet and a little rubber vest with some flecktarn-style camo on it, along with some other crap that's been thrown away) and I thought about making it into a bayonet. Now, I know there are real mounts for an AK-47 to hold a bayonet, but chances are they'd take more work that this will to mount on. What I've done so far is cut an initial notch so that it'll fit around the back cleaning rod mount, and I'm trying to figure out how I should cut to fit around the front. Some pictures of it are on their way here. As you can see, I've cut the top of the handguard off, so the knife will fit snug against the barrel, and I've notched the back. Now, I need to figure out how to cut the top of it. The knife blade piece fits almost perfectly inside the cleaning rod holder, so I'm thinking of just cutting the frame around that part off and seeing how it works from there. Any input, as always, is appreciated. So, I decided to cut down the top of the knife almost all the way across, and now it fits rather level. However, it can't be secured to the gun without using electrical tape, I'm thinking. Besides that, the knife is cut to fit and paint is drying now.

So did you paint it black, if so how much of it (the blade too)? I need to get a couple mock bayonets, one for carrying around for stealth kills, and maybe a second one for trying this out on my M4.

Painted it black, made the blade Boltgun Silver (dunno what I'd do without Citadel Colours), and lightly dabbed the blade in red. Pics will be up soon. are here.
