Well, I found this book in our bookcase earlier today. It's a book written by three law enforcement members on armed engagements. It has all aspects of law enforcement in it, from confronting the suspect to the aftermath. The reason I write about this is because the book has a few sections dedicated to these various points: - Light Control, Night Vision (with your own eyes, not a machine)
- Approaching a Dangerous Situation
- Use of Suprise
- Cover Awareness
- Shooting Techniques (talks about where to aim, how to handle a gun when wounded, etc)
- Reloading Under Fire
- Final Approach (talks mainly about incapacitating, but has a bit about securing and maintaining perimeters)
Granted, the book is written from a law enforcement perspective. However, it gives solid strategy and information on using handguns, which is why I brought it up. If anyone by chance has this book somewhere, I'd reccomend reading it. I'll see if I can bring it along next skirmish.
