While the AK does jam, it's hard to make it do so. It's usually factory or user error or a poorly loaded round that causes a problem. That's something worth noting, while the AK is very good as a weapon, it came from a mass production line, and so did the ammunition. Most Soviet-era ammo isn't very good for the rifle or for actual use, but most other ammo works just fine. The AK-47 is also becoming a more and more scarce item. In actuality, most of the weaponry being used (ineffectively, for the most part) by insurgency forces is the AKM, which is the modernized version of an AK-47. But even then, the AK series is beyond the AKM, AK-74, AK-74M, and so on. Many of the AK-100 variants are much better as they have stabilizing lugs in place to control recoil and are made to tighter quality tolerances, as well as using a polymer to reduce the weight.
