As ugly as the SCAR is, and as much as I'd have liked to have seen the 416 take over, I do think the SCAR is a good, solid weapons platform, and honestly you really can't argue with the 7.62 round compared to the 5.56/.223

ok ok fine i will say it the SCAR is ..........is ....................is not as good looking as OTHER rifles but I know it will get the job done for the troops!

I took a look at the SCAR, and it is not ammunition interchangable. In order to get a weapon to shoot a different round you need to change: the barrel, mag well, reciever, and adjust the sights. The info says that the US version is .223 and that the Europeans have several different varients.
