I guess the MP5K, assuming you're planning on getting a Marui. It would be nice to have a really compact SMG on Alpha squad. Also, it would be able to be used in the fall and winter when it's cold, unlike a gas G18. The G18 would be cheaper and more convenient, however, as most of Alpha squad has one. It's nice to have a FA-capable pistol. So even though it would probably be a bit more costly, I guess go with the MP5K to change things up a bit.

I'd go with the K. Can't beat the ability to use it in CQB as a main and in normal combat as a secondary. The G18 is a little less capable of that. But then comes the next question: MP5K or MP7? MP7s actually have holsters designed for them, as well as being railed and quite ergonomic.

You make a good point, but if I myself was carrying a K I'd have it slung over my back, nice and accessible. And it's not like it weighs enough to cause a mess back there either. But yeah, some of us prefer holstered sidearms, in which case the MP7 would trump the MP5K. Although I think there's a shoulder holster and the MP5 holster that could be used for the K, the MP7 is a lot more like a pistol and will fit in more holsters. Also, the MP7 is an AEP, correct? So it would have a bit less upgrade potential and performance compared to the MP5K.

Yeah, the MP7 is AEP in design. It wouldn't be able to get as powerful, but it's not meant for range, so power isn't as crucial.

ya thats one of the ? i asked myself, do i want a holstered weapon or a slinged one. I would like to have a holstered weapon cause that way it wont be swinging around on my back. thats why i have shown a interest in the g18. but the g18 doesnt work the best in weather so then i come back to the k or mp7 like you sugested jim i like that idea. thanks for your opinoins

There's also the TM G18C AEP, which would probably perform damn close to the MP7, for a bit cheaper and still have the pistol-shape and design.

Where'd you read up about it at? I've heard it's pretty decent, but yeah it probably won't be as good as the MP7 or MP5K.

MP5K is my opinion on the gun of choice

One thing no one has brought up is your budget, how much do you plan/have to spend on the gun, mags, and battery/ies?
